Anyways

Last week I was at a writer’s conference where I heard this song for the first time. I considered it worthy enough that my heart wanted to share the song with you…

It’s a country song, and I’ll tell ya the truth – I gave up that style of music years ago. So when a great country song comes along, I’m out of the loop and clueless.

It’s a couple of years old (2007) – maybe you’ve heard it – maybe you haven’t. But it’s worth a listen with new ears. Enjoy…

ps: F.R.E.S.H new post this Friday, I’m gonna rant and ramble; probably get myself in trouble again. If I was “country” I’d tell ya’ to hold on to yer hats!

MARTINA MCBRIDE – ANYWAY
You can spend your whole life buildin’ – something from nothin’
One storm can come and blow it all away…
…Build it anyway

You can chase a dream – that seems so out of reach
And you know it might not ever come your way…
…Dream it anyway

God is great – But sometimes life ain’t good
And when I pray – It doesn’t always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway…I do it anyway

This world’s gone crazy, It’s hard to believe
That tomorrow will be better than today…
…Believe it anyway

You can love someone with all your heart – for all the right reasons
In a moment they can choose to walk away…
…Love ’em anyway

You can pour your soul out singing – a song you believe in
That tomorrow they’ll forget you ever sang…
…Sing it anyway

I sing – I dream – I love – anyway…

    • Lee – Amazing! (and more so, that Ron was just returning from a writer’s conference… again)
And, yeah, I do like what you said about how the “This song is filled with hope and it doesn’t qualify actions.” <– great, great point 😀

  1. Yep – My name is Ron, and I’m a Writers Conference addict.

Looking back on that day, reading your post and my comment, I can see what God had in his head. I still live in the same tension, but have no doubt that it’s where he wants me.

  2. Your moral compass always keeps you going in God’s direction – so do it anyway. This song is fantastic. I’ve never heard it before – thanks for the experience.
