You Have 100 Words Starting Now

What

if

words

were

as

precious

as

diamonds?

.

What if we were only allotted 100 words a day?

.

How would you use them? What would you say?

.

Would you choose your battles more wisely?

.

Would you stop beating around the bush and become clear about your needs?

.

As it stands I only have 60 more words to share with you.

.

And I want to tell you, someone cares about you.

.

Someone notices you, your actions, your attitude, your words.

.

So choose your words carefully.

.

Wisely.

.

Be few with them when you can.

.

Say thank-you, I love you… often.

.

Words matter.

  1. Hi Sherry. Another great post and very thought provoking. I hope you don’t mind and please tell me if you do (I’m not trying to market my blog)but I’d like to share something with you and your readers I wrote about how we use our words (in 183 words – slightly more I know – but sometimes I have a lot to say). I’ve put a link here for you and anyone else who may be interested.

Words can tell such a story, and commas are really useful for us to pause, and take breath . . .

    • Very nice poem: “…commas, where we can take breath.” <— I really like that. In a world of speed, choas, text messages, and truncated words…the comma has become so underated. Maybe part of Christmas is about bringing the comma back.

  2. What a clever way to post a very thought provoking message. Goes right along with what I have been studying in my small group this week! Quick to listen and slow to speak. So important but sometimes oh so hard to practice!

  3. Quiet and silence are so important. People tend to listen more when you use your words wisely.
Your post is so clever and true.

  4. 100 words a day, wouldn’t that just be great? My wife, with only getting 100 words a day? The more I think of this the more I love this great idea. I would not need all 100 words. I would only need a few like: “what?”, “repeat” “OK”, “where?”, “who”, “work?”, “now?”,” who me?”, “just a minute”, “why?”, “now?”, I will get it done tomorrow”. Because I love my wife so much, I will give her my left over word for the next day.
