Bits of Truth

“Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.” ~ Shel Silverstein (he’s one of my very favorites: an American poet, singer-songwriter, & author of children’s books)

Sometimes, when the odds are against us, yet we know in our heart and gut what to do–when we’re being stirred and nudged–then we just have to go and seek, do, be the impossible.

And if you’re looking for a way to creatively express & journal this quote – head on over to create●he/ART for the weekly Art Journaling prompt associated with this quote. And while you’re there…maybe there is a creativity or art class that will spark your interest.

  1. Wonderful quote and thanks for the links I’ll go check them out now, I love art, journaling and inspired poetry. Your post was perfect for me today.
Also it is short so my dyslexia didn’t get chance to kick in.
Love and hugs friend. Lisa. xx 🙂

      • Yep…afraid so. I’m an adult with dylexia and Aspergers syndrome. I have recently found out that it’s to do with my EFD Executive Functioning Disorder.
I just love painting in abstract, I haven’t got the attention spam for fine art, my brain just moves way too fast for it. hehehe.
        Lovely to meet you. 🙂

      • “Executive Functioning Disorder” seems like what I got after being in the Corporate world for 20 years. Okay all kidding aside, since I know EFD is a real thing – I’m thrilled you have art to counter balance. From my side of the pond – it’s lovely to cross paths with you too ♥

  2. ‘Anything can happen child, anything can be.” I just hear God speaking that over us, anything! Expect the impossible! Thank you Sherry!
