Bits of Truth

Hello Determined Soul, we have arrived at Wednesday.

And it’s the start of Lent. You know that thing where people give up or give in or do a little something something for six weeks before Easter.

My friends have been talking about it. Lent. Pondering what the Lenten season holds for them this year. Some things are easy to track: stop cursing. Others are harder to map out; things like: give myself grace, be kinder to my spouse, kids, etc…

And if you’re like me, I’d prefer a plan. A map. A detailed how-to, so that I can accomplish the task LIKE A BOSS (wow, I am saying that A LOT since watching the video from last Friday). But sometimes the thing we set out to do is about as solid as Jell-O. Without a mould. No beginning, middle, or end. Just a glump of stuff.

Journeys (Lenten or not) defined as a glump take courage to start.
It’s hard to know when you’re half way, or if you’re on the right track.
Are you succeeding, failing, falling short, not doing Lent it’s dues.
And determined soul, that’s when it just takes courage to start.
Sheer courage.
Without a mould, plan, to-do list, etc…

Often these journeys have a way of being Guided.
Signs appear. Green lights, yellow lights, red lights, and a speed limit sign that says it’s okay to go faster (or slow down…).
So trust that.
Be Transform.

And that’s exactly what the 7th Truth Card is about on this first day of Lent.

My hope is that one day these Truth Cards will come to good use. Eventually I’d like to publish them with proceeds benefiting TWLOHA (because I think what they do is so very important). I have no idea how that will work, but it is a wish. For now they are my gift to you. So without further ado, here is your Truth Card to print. I’m offering one each week, collect them all and you’ll have a beautiful set of 52 cards. Simply click on the card (which takes you to my Flickr set) and download and print. I have my Truth Cards on a small easel. They look best printed 5″ x 5″. You are free to give them to others, in fact it would be a huge honor if you did. I just ask that you do not remove the copyright info. This is an honor system, I honor you, you honor me.   n♥JOY!

    • Thanks friend. The more I listen and pay attention to the rhythms of “now” the more I see that there is a “new thing” of jell-o going on everywhere. Hearts being drawn into change that isn’t yet definable—but it makes it no less important or needed…necessary. So yeah, it’s personally good for me…I’m glad to know it’s also SO good for you too. xo

  1. This is so perfect as I pondered and fretted and journaled over my Lent journey last night. Then it came to me. And this morning my devotional from ABBA Calling confirmed it for me. Yep, courage will be needed and hopefully I won’t get dis”couraged” if I fail along the way. Thank you for this beautiful truth card!
