what is true…love

Dear Me,

This is about the truth.

The truth that’s all around you.

Can you hear it?

It’s quieter than the noise in your ears. It’s softer than the noise from others–social media–magazines–and labels inside the clothes that got too tight (if you didn’t already cut out the label). Gentler than that blogger with all the comments–the artist who is stealing ideas images style and seems to be doing better than you. Kinder than the person who rejected you for something that looks “better” on the outside and is the new “interest” you can’t compete against.

…just listen…

Your heart, let it slow down.
Your breathing, let it be deep, meaningful, soft.
Your truth, let it begin to whisper.
And sweet you, don’t argue, don’t disregard, don’t let the noise in your head take over the whisper.

…just listen…

There is a Spirit in you.
It won’t force you to listen.
But It’s speaking all the time.

…just listen…

“You are precious and loved.”

“You are enough, just like you are, for right now, in this minute.”

“They don’t see what I know. Because, I know what is true about you.”

“You were planned for good things. If it weren’t so, you wouldn’t be here.”

“Will you let Me soothe you?”

“Then just breathe, go out into the air, sit under the sky, close your eyes, feel your smallness in a city–country–world–universe. And then accept this truth: your place on this earth is just as important as anyone else. You are here because you are supposed to be here. And you have a purpose that no one else can do exactly like you can.”

“The noise of others, objects, expectations, and sometimes rejection–is not what determines your worth–your qualifications–your right to feel the things you deeply feel that bring goodness, justice, and love into the world.”

“I know it’s hard to believe sometimes–because that noise is loud. But I’ll always be here to remind you–anytime you want. I’m right here in the quiet places. The thin places. I’m here to remind you–that the truth is that–you’re doing it right, your growing, your finding new truth in everything that happens. But sweet soul please remember, the truth will always lead you to a loving place. Love yourself as you are, how you are wired, how you will care for yourself better, and offer grace to others–as well as yourself.”

Dear Me,
Don’t forget that love is the truth.

My hope is that one day these Truth Cards will come to good use. Eventually I’d like to publish them with proceeds benefiting TWLOHA (because I think what they do is so very important). I have no idea how that will work, but it is a wish. For now they are my gift to you. So without further ado, here is your Truth Card to print. I’m offering one each week, collect them all and you’ll have a beautiful set of 52 cards. Simply click on the card (which takes you to my Flickr set) and download and print. I have my Truth Cards on a small easel. They look best printed 5″ x 5″. You are free to give them to others, in fact it would be a huge honor if you did. I just ask that you do not remove the copyright info. This is an honor system, I honor you, you honor me.   n♥JOY!
