moody charcoal

~ from the studio table ~

I truly love the moody feel that comes from various charcoal techniques. Shadows and depth…

The imagery: As a child, we are wide-eyed and innocent. So much of life awaits. So much is waiting to be birthed… as our guardians wait in gestation for all that is to come our way.

The bits: Substrate: 12″ x 17″ 300 gsm (140 lb) paper. Mediums used: loose charcoal, charcoal pouch, acetone, watercolor, pencil, pen, Casein paint, and bits of vintage ephemera.
